mpost issue

Hello,

I have a MetaPost file  test.mp  that is to create 6 epsf files.
Unfortunately the mpost command terminates  very early.
I have attached the the file test.err showing the progress mpost
makes.   My question is -- what is going on here.

The file test1.mp   is the MetaPost code for only the first epsf file.
MetPost has no issues with this.     very strange!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Many thanks in advance.
