Hello again,
I still am having some difficulties with the use of TEX.mp utility.
I have attached a short program that shows my difficulty -- and
hopefully not that of MetaPost.    The demo.mp below contains
the program as well as the output created by mpost.

The three lines using btex -- etex  explicitly seem to work fine.
However the single line using TEX.mp doesn't.  What am I missing
here?
