Another ps2pdf problem.

I have recently bought a new laptop.  My old one is getting very long
in the tooth and is giving ominous warnings, on boot, about possible
problems with the hard drive.

On the new machine, ps2pdf gives me files that do not fit the window
properly; they are truncated on the right.

I have attached an example including my tex code, the ps file that I get
on the new machine, and the pdf file that I get on the new machine.
When wtf.ps is viewed (e.g. with okular) it looks fine.  However
wtf.pdf is messed up.

If I process wtf.tex (running latex, dvips, and ps2pdf) on my old
machine, nothing goes wrong.

The salient difference between the two machines is that the old one
runs Ubuntu 22.04 whereas the new one runs Ubuntu 24.04.  So something
needs to be adjusted w.r.t. ps2pdf under the 24.04 version.

What to do is beyond me.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I really need to get the results into suitable pdf form.  One cannot
rely on document viewers that handle ps files being available.

Grateful for any ideas.
