MetaPost issue.

Hello,
I have a brief metapost program test that works --  attached below.
This works with no troubles.   But when I try to compile
the "bigger" program  (that has as its first few lines the same
as the text.mp program,  I get the message "can't find the
associated mpx file."  The bigger program is attached as well
hexagon.   What is going on here?
