I recently installed TeXShop on my Macbook Air. There is evidently an update that I should install, but when I run the installation I get a window that says that "TeXShop (Autoupdate) wants to make changes", and asks for a password. I don't believe I established a password for TeXShop, and so I have no idea what to do. I would rather not disable autoupdate in system settings, and in any case I'm not sure that that would hel I previously had a Dell PC running Windows 10, and used WinEdt as my editor, so I'm unfamiliar with TeXShop. I'm unable to find useful information on the web. Thanks for any help you can provide. Sincerely, Jay Beder
