In the last commits I removed the use of ExtUtils::Embed and perllibs.
The CI pass as it did before, so there are chances that it will be
better.

Would you like a tarball generated somewhere?

I am still curious to see the output of
 perl -V:perllibs
as my guess is that it is where all the unwanted libraries links are
from.
