Or for a quick test just using the files from texinfo:

disset:~> cp /usr/share/info/info.info.gz .
disset:~> touch texinfo
disset:~> info ./info

then in "1.7 Following Cross-References", there is a cross-reference
"*Note Overview of Texinfo: (texinfo)Top". Trying to follow it fails.
