How to specify numeric arguments in scrolling commands

Hi,
I am a student and trying to learn linux.Info manual page specifies that
for scrolling <NEXT> key can be specified a numeric argument but it
doesnot specify how to supply the numeric argument.I will be gratified is
you could reply back with a solution for my problem.
