Hello Texinfo friends,

I've released texinfo pretest 4.2b to:
  ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/texinfo/texinfo.tar.gz
  http://texinfo.org/pretest/ftp/texinfo.tar.gz

NEWS is below, such as it is. This release is intended to be for bug fixes.

There is also one change to texinfo.tex that is in this pretest even
though I haven't yet committed it -- it changes the formatting of @defun
and friends so that the "type" word (Function or Variable or whatever)
does not extend into the margin any more. Feedback welcome ...

If there are significant bugs you would like to see addressed in this
release, please let me know -- even if they've already been reported.
(I have a couple hundred outstanding bug reports, so any feedback will
help me prioritize.)

If nothing else comes up, I will probably make the release in a few days.

Please email me or the list ([email protected]) with questions
or problems. Do not email the regular texinfo lists, they should remain
for official releases.

Thanks,
[email protected]
