Just to give an update (to the list):

The problem is that both pst-pdf and texpower is messing with LaTeX's
output routine. The things they do aren't compatible. 

Current conclusion: The packages can't be used together.
(Using pstricks without pst-pdf is of course fine as it always has
been.)
