I don't see what turns on the color here. Have you edited "tpoptions.cfg" 
so some color option is automatically loaded?

If you aren't able to find out what turns on the colors, you may set the 
colors to be monochrome by loading the "color" package (before "texpower") 
with the "monochrome" option.
