Take a look at http://docs.scribus.net/ If you are very particular that you want to use latex, take a look at flowfram package: http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/flowfram/ The jpgfdraw package may make it easier for you to create frames that you can use with flowfram package. http://mirrors.ctan.org/graphics/jpgfdraw/jpgfdraw-a4.pdf Best, S.
