It's about the paradigm, separation of concern between presentation and contents. Besides I personally find lot of things difficult with WYSWYG for any non trivial document. Numberings, formatings often go haywire and you never feel like being in control. This is something probably hard to explain. You can feel that only if you have given non WYSWYG document making such as latex at least for a while. Some say WYSWYG is "intuitive" or "user friendly". When people say so, they are most certainly confusing usability with learning curve. Once you go past the learning curve, you find the thing you mastered much easier than it sounded when you were just testing the waters. For latex, I can say it is very rewarding to go past the learning curve.. Don't think too much and start learning today ... Make your choice only after having tried both paradigms yourself ... My 2 cents advice. Mayuresh. _______________________________________________ Home: http://www.tug.org.in/ TeX FAQ: http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq unsubscribe: http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tugindia
