Was wondering whether it is possible to scale text in one direction alone. Well, the problem is to fit some text within the margins when, as sometimes happens, a bit projects out. In DTP applications like Pagemaker, InDesign, etc. it is possible to manually reduce the spacing or scale that particular part of the text so that it fits into the available space. Was wondering whether scalebox or resizebox can be used to scale the text horizontally alone to achieve a similar effect, though, I am sure, the text may look awkward, if not ugly.
