Hello TUG members,

First, TUGboat 45:2, the proceedings for TUG'24, has been mailed
to members and published online.
  https://tug.org/TUGboat/Contents/contents45-2.html
  https://tug.org/tug2024

So TUGboat 45:1 is now fully open to all:
  https://tug.org/TUGboat/Contents/contents45-1.html

We always appreciate receiving articles for upcoming issues
(next deadline is October 4).

For those interested in producing PDF/UA (accessible tagged) output from
LaTeX, you might like to check out the LaTeX team's ongoing collection
of example tagged documents and templates for doing so with your own
documents:
  https://github.com/latex3/tagging-project

It often amounts to merely adding a \DocumentMetadata declaration to the
beginning of your document, as described there.

Many third-party packages are now compatible with the core tagging.
A table of tagging status is linked from the same place.

TUG 2025 will take place in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, hosted by
TeXFolio (thank you!), from July 18-20, 2025. Detailed information and
a registration form will be posted in due course.
  https://tug.org/tug2025/

Other upcoming conferences:

- Grapholinguistics in the 21st Century, 2024: From graphemes
to knowledge; Venice, Italy, and online,
  October 23-25, 2024.
  https://grafematik2024.sciencesconf.org/

Donald Knuth will be a keynote speaker at this conference. He will
discuss ``The Grapholinguistic Model of TeX'', in an interview by
Yannis Haralambous, and also hold an ``All Questions Answered''
  session.

- Journ\'ee GUTenberg 2024, the annual meeting of the French-speaking
TeX user group, will take place November 16 in Paris.
  https://www.gutenberg-asso.fr/Journee-GUTenberg-2024

- Face/Interface 2025 will take place from January 13-18, 2025, at
  Stanford University.
  https://silicon.stanford.edu/face-interface/

Chuck Bigelow's keynote speech from the 2023 Face/Interface,
``Prediction Is Difficult, Especially About the Future'', among
others, is now online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DtIO-ZgkPf-U.

Finally, we're happy to report that TUGIndia, the TeX user group in
India, has reformed. They are on the following Mastodon channel:
  https://techhub.social/@TUGIndia

They have already deployed a customizable package for creating
dissertations:
  https://ctan.org/pkg/udiss
which is hosted on the free software repository puszcza in Ukraine:
  https://puszcza.gnu.org.ua/projects/udiss/

Happy \TeX{}ing,
Karl Berry, on behalf of the TUG Board
