Hello TUG members,

Gutenberg - Knuth - Zapf - Lamport - LaTeX:
Frank Mittelbach has received an honorary doctorate from Masaryk
University Brno, Czech Republic, for his life's work on research in
document engineering and making LaTeX what it is today.

The first issue of TUGboat for 2026 is nearly complete and will be
making its way to members in May. The second issue this year will be the
TUG'26 proceedings as usual (deadline: July 26), and we also welcome
articles for the third issue at any time (deadline: October 23).

TUG 2026 will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada,
from July 17-19 (Fri-Sun), 2026, with a LaTeX developers' workshop on
tagged PDF on Thursday July 16.

The deadline for the early bird discount is April 24.

Please send presentation proposals with titles and abstracts (plain text
