Initial Comment:
Here is the test file that fails to show correctly in recent xdvik (the older xdvi appears to be working, but I do not remember which version).

The style "tplot.sty" uses tpic specials; they used to work fine in xdvi. 

This style is really useful for producing simple drawings, e.g., for homework problems and solutions, where you do not want to keep pictures in separate files.

dvips, dvipdfm, dviwin (windows previewer) understand these specials, but not recent xdvi(k).
