Category: hyperref Group: incorrect behaviour Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Assigned to: Stefan Ulrich (stefanulrich) Summary: Mailcap not interpreted correctly Initial Comment: My mailcap file contains the line application/pdf; evince (with a space at the end of the line) When clicking, in a dvi file, on a link to the file "/u/ihalu_01/Paper/CL.analyt.pdf", I get the message Command "/bin/sh -c evince/u/ihalu_01/Paper/CL.analyt.pdf" exited with error code 127 /bin/sh: evince/u/ihalu_01/Paper/CL.analyt.pdf: No such file or directory So appearently, xdvi throws away the space at the end of the mailcap line. (Anyway, according to "man mailcap", the right thing to do would be to pipe the file into evince instead of attaching the name at the end of the line.) Version: xdvik version 22.84.10 (Xaw toolkit) Libraries: kpathsea version 3.5.6, T1lib version 5.0.1 My e-mail: [email protected] Best, Immi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Stefan Ulrich (stefanulrich) Date: 2010-01-13 19:35 Message: Thanks for the report, I can reproduce this, looks like an error in the mailcap parser. That the file isn't passed via a pipe as specified by rfc1524 is by design (the xdvi GUI makes it difficult to capture the output of piped commands, see the print dialog, and it's a rarely used feature ...), it should try to pass it normally as an argument if '%s' isn't specified. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=377580&aid=2931447&group_id=23164 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev
