Hello,

in earlier versions of xdvik, I very much liked and used the characteristic that the display did *not* stop at the page boundaries. I assume this was not meant as a feature, because I had to fill the display first completely using a large scale (pressing: 1 s) and then I switched to a small scale (pressing: 20 s). This way I was able to use the ruler with large vector graphics, because they are not scaled when I include them into latex documents, but only in the display.

I imagine a feature where the use can switch on/off the display of postscript contents outside the page boundaries.

Currently I run:

xdvik version 22.84.14 (@(#)Motif Version 2.1.0, runtime version 2.1)
Libraries: kpathsea version 3.5.7, T1lib version 5.0.1

That's not a problem with postscript, but with all content - try

which is also clipped at the boundary. It's a feature of the motif
version, it's still like it was before in the xaw version (i.e. if you
build with --with-xdvi-x-toolkit=xaw). In motif the drawing window is
inside a clip window which creates this effect. As far as I can remember
this was the only way I could get it to work with correctly with the scroll
bars etc, i.e. it can't be changed easily.
