Initial Comment:
It was bitterly disappointing that in the latest version xdvi keeps jumps to the first page when run with -unique option. Older versions used to maintain the position  and it was highly useful, because one could write a script, which recompiles the dvi and then opens the window right away, which in turn caused updating of its content. Can you please revert to the old behavior?
