Summary: xdvi does not reload on focus

Initial Comment:
I have just installed a fresh Xubuntu 12.04. I use emacs editor for latex. when I compile a .tex file and switch window to the xdvi window using alt+tab, xdvi does not reload and I need to click inside the window for refreshing the the window.

I tried xdvi -debug. Nothing happens till I click and then I get the message

xdvi: File corrupted (click on window to reload) ...
xdvi: File reloaded.

but the file is not corrupted (it happens also with an empty document)

thanks for help
