Xdvik version 22.74 and .wdvi -files -- xdvik assumes extension .dvi!

Hi!

I'm using xemacs whith whizzytex-mode, which produces files with the
extension .wdvi is used and updates them regularily. Viewing these files
worked fine in combination whith the old xdvik but does not work with
version 22.74. The reason is, that the new xdvik looks assumes the
extension .dvi for any file. E.g., instead of opening _whizzy_text.wdvi
it looks for _whizzy_text.wdvi.dvi -- and fails! 

Any suggestions about how to solve this problem?
