This doesn't look like the right solution to me. When $EEE wasn't set
it will fail. You need to add a specific argument for preprocessing
that can't be put in $CPPFLAGS? Adding a variable for that can be a
solution. $CDEPFLAGS?

I'll do that, it's simple. And leave the difficult things to you :-).
It's looking good to me, but I think we need one more round of testing
and fixing before I dare to release a .zip file. So, please try out the
next version tonight and send me any required fixes.
