John Williams implemented support for using $var in Python code. This
avoids the awkward "_no.var". For example, you can now use:
@if $OSTYPE == 'linux':
Instead of:
@if _no.OSTYPE == 'linux':
A bit of explanation can be found in the tutorial, "6. Using Python" and
in the user manual, "21. Using Python".
I have checked in version 1.059 and the zip archive is available at
http://www.a-a-p.org/files/aap-latest.zip.
Comments are welcome. Please watch out for Python code where a $ causes
trouble.
