When gcc is in the PATH, I get a message on Windows XP every time aap is run:
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>rem gcc not in the path, no message:
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>aap
Aap: Recipe file "C:\Documents and Settings\cory\main.aap" not found
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>rem put gcc in the path...
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>PATH %PATH%;C:\cygwin\bin
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>aap
Aap: C:\cygwin\bin\gcc.EXE --version
Aap: Recipe file "C:\Documents and Settings\cory\main.aap" not found
C:\Documents and Settings\cory>rem ^^ now i get the gcc --version message ^^
I tracked it down and found that the line of code doing this is tools/mingw.py
line 118:
~ # Run gcc with --version to see if it really is MingW
~ ok, out = redir_system(path + ' --version', 0)
Note that this bug also causes tests to fail:
C:\Program Files\aap>aap
Aap: C:\cygwin\bin\gcc.EXE --version
Aap: {interactive} c:\python23\python.exe unittest\checks.py
............
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ran 12 tests in 0.047s
OK
Aap: c:\python23\python.exe rectest\test001.py "c:\python23\python.exe"
Aap returned "Aap: C:\cygwin\bin\gcc.EXE --version
OK
" instead of "OK"
Aap: Error in recipe "c:/program files/aap/test.aap" line 33: Shell command
returned 1
