Cool, that patch works.  Thanks :)

And I'll keep in mind the optional AUTODEPEND=off, I can see how that could end up faster when used with one-step builds.

Although I've just started using A-A-P, based on my experiences so far I'd have to say that A-A-P is replacing SCons for me just as fast as SCons pulled me away from makefiles ;)
