AAP's ports recipe(s) (BSD specific, though) are intended to do that for a
large class of software (9672 ports at last count).

I think getting AAP to build lots of software is a more important goal,
myself, and I'm not sure AAP can handle all the weirdness you might want
to throw at it already. Not that I have any current real "hard" example
available, since everytime I think I have a real problem, another 15
minutes thinking yields a reasonable workaround (like -I$BDIR).
