I don't know... I have just searched (and tried some) options in Mailman 
(software running sf m-list), and tested some things.
And: I see that lists accept by default all addresses, as long as to/cc field 
is "memaid-devel(at)lists.sourceforge.net".

But emails from sf trackers are weird and puzzles me:
"to" and "from" fields are set to "[email protected]"

It looks to me that forwarding is somehow done internally or something...
Well, in my experiments I, among other things, set "[email protected]" 
to address of allowing senders - still the same, I get a bounce (aproval 
request) to memaid-devel-admin@
