I think the 'category name' should not be placed above or below the Q&A
as I think it is wasting vertical space and it could be distracting. For
Q&A about organic chemistry that I feed into SM, I found scanning in
handwritten cards is a good and (compared to using chemical editors)
fast solution. So I end up with two pictures, one for the question and
one for the answer that are nearly of DIN A6 size and that fit exactly
on my screen. I don't have to see the category name while learning, as I
identify the categories I use by the colour the cards have (someone else
mentioned in a different thread he does the same, I think): organic
chemistry = scans on white paper, English = lightgreen, Italian =
lightblue etc.

I would like to see the categories and subcategories, just for browsing
through the elements, on the side of the Q&A window, maybe even in an
extra window that can be minimised:

(Chemistry --> organic chemistry --> substitutions
                                 --> additions
  English  --> A
           --> B
           etc.  )


To introduce myself: I'm just a user with no programming skills. I'm
interested in this project as SM is the only programme next to
Encyclopedia Britannica that makes me boot windows. I have to admit that
I have not yet installed and tested memaid, but I plan to do so after a
harddisk & apt-get update in the near future. Meanwhile I'm following
your discussions on gmane.comp.tools.memaid.devel about design wishes
and features with great interest.
