Charley aims to travel from Australia to Japan following the Pacific Rim through Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan before he reaches Tokyo. In the first episode he leaves Sydney with a large biker convoy as he travels up the east coast of Australia, and along the way makes use of a replica Spitfire and tries his hand at cattle rustling.
  9|Charley Boorman: Sydney to Tokyo, by Any Means~Papua New Guinea~The adventurer travels to Papua New Guinea, a country with one of the worst reputations for violence in the southern hemisphere. He uses a dirt bike to navigate a dangerous route with a group of locals, before heading through 30 miles of mangrove forest to visit an isolated tribe in the village of Gapun.
