GitLab has already been split into free and paid-for versions so I worry about its long-term free availability. Bitbucket allows only 5 devs I think on their free account. There is, of course, a risk that someone will buy out GitHub, and seek to commercialise it in the same way these things happened at SF. As for SF, I think they deserve all the contempt we can throw at them.
