From comments elsewhere, I am not sure if it is
Gracenote who has no interest, or a reflection
of their inability to find reliable guide source
partners in a number of locations(*).  In any case,
it is well agreed that the quality of the guide
data for non-US sources is poor, and alternatives
are likely good.


(*) Gracenote expects a contractual agreement
where the source(s) provide well defined
machine processable data in a timely manner.
This typically requires the partners themselves
to have contractual agreements from the stations,
and often the stations need to have contractual
agreements with their content provider sources.
If this is not the way things are currently done it
can be a bit of a foriegn concept (yes, the pun
is intentional), and the quality suffers.  I seem to
recall that Gracenote dropped at least one
country entirely because they and their partner
were unable to continue to work together.
