Thanks for the offer but I think I know how to fix it now, I suspect I'm tripping over Five HD / Channel 5 HD or something like that. I'm also moving everything to a newly built 64 bit 10.10 machine so will sort it out as I restore mythtv etc. Thanks for the clarification, sorry for the noise.
