I think the selection and overiding of channel names does not belong into the grabber.

Instead the consuming application should keep track of the way it wants to present a
channel to the user, possibly seeding channel names from the grabber output but allowing
a manual override by the user. (I think of the grabbers as tools that adapt various
guide APIs into one common API that consuming applications can consume)
