The grabber has not received much attention after it was added around four years ago. According to the automatic tests, there have been issues for a long time. There is no premade binary package for MaxOSX, yet. But there is a package in Fink and you can easily install from sources yourself. Maybe the original authors can help you get tv_grab_dtv_la in order.
