If FreeGuide scrolls to the wrong time when you click "Go to Now" you
need the -Duser.timezone=YOUR_TIMEZONE setting.  What happens when you
do this?  Does FreeGuide change its mind about what time it is?  If
not, the setting must not be getting through somehow.  It would be
worth running FreeGuide from the command line and making sure the
syntax is correct.

If FreeGuide scrolls to the right time, but the programmes are shown at
the wrong time, you may need to set the TZ environment variable.

Let us know which problem you are seeing.
