That doesn't surprise me. tv_grab_pt gets the programme's description from a call to a sub-page. Thus for *every* programme in the schedule it will require a separate http request (to an already sluggish website). If you can live without descriptions (or just as a test) you can try the '--fast' option to tv_grab_pt which will not do these supplementary requests.

tv_grab_pt will never be as fast as tv_grab_pt_meo since the latter gets pre-digested data from an XML file (i.e. no sluggish web pages to deal with).

You really shouldn't be getting 7 days worth of data every day. A better retrieval plan is "today + tomorrow + new day 7", then you are only getting 3 days worth. In my experience the schedule on the days in between rarely changes (YMMV).
