Sorry Robert; for some reason I had two days stuck in my mind. Seven is even
more generous. I stand corrected.

It took me all of 60 minutes to decide to subscribe/become a member
of/whatever to SD compared with the efforts I needed to script something
that would work with Atlas and then according to the website linked from the
latest e-mail from them would probably only work for another 3 months...

"Atlas access is provided initially free of charge on a trial basis for up
to ten users, so that we can support early development of apps. Beyond 10
users on a single API key, or for **trials** continuing longer than **three
months**, a charge is levied based on the number of users you have, and the
features you use."

You, or someone else in the know, might be able to answer a query: Does
anyone know if the people at SD have asked Metabroadcast about the costs of
licensing the PA data behind the Radio Times service that is closing down
that lots of people have been very happy with, with SD then
scatter/gathering 14 days of data, caching and then allowing JSON download
to members? I appreciate this is probably commercially sensitive, but has a
response from Metabroadcast driven the SD relationship with Gracenote or is
it just that Gracenote came first or Metabroadcast couldn't license the
Press Association data for the sort of use that UK people might want?

I appreciate also that if this query is rather politically sensitive between
several commercial deals that it will go unanswered; thanks anyway - but the
insight would be great and it might save those who think the SD/Gracenote
service could be improved on by using the Press Association data, but
perhaps not understanding the delicacies of commercial licensing, wasting
their time trying to set up such a deal with Metabroadcast... or not...
