It would be great if you, or someone, could write up how to transition from uk_rt to SD for MythTV, for the benefit of other time poor people.

Regarding assigning XMLTV IDs to channels (and unticking EIT), I've found the mythweb channel editor much easier than mythtv-setup for this.

Ideally, though, the mythupchuk script could be updated - I've not used it myself but apparently it makes post-processing after doing channel scans in conjunction with uk_rt nice and fast.

I've realised we are talking about largely MythTV-specific things on the xmltv mailing list, so apologies to non-MythTV users here.
