However, older version of MythTV do not work correctly if the time is left out. This is technically a problem with MythTV and not tv_grab_sd_json and you could argue that people should just upgrade their MythTV version. But MythTV can be more difficult to update than other software as there are so many hardware quirks and dependencies to deal with. In this case I think it is reasonable to add an option to accommodate older version of MythTV as long as the default gives the technically correct output.
