Hi!

I couldn't see anything in the data that would tell me which is a radio
channel or programme and which is TV.

The only thing I see doing, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong,
would be to do tv_split to break out all channels:
tv_split --output %channel.xml

and then use tv_cat to put all the channel files you know are radio into
one file, and all the files you know are TV in another.

Which ain't pretty or fast, but it will get there.
