options

The user's guide says

> Options come immediately after the main symbol, before any following
> object.
>
but it looks like various symbols including @Font,  @Break, and @Colour
take options before the main symbol.
Am I correct? Maybe what those commands take aren't options but something
else...
In any case, they seem to be introduced in the guide without any word of
warning or explanation, which is confusing.
