(Conditional|Multi)language documents

Hello lout users!
    I have a got a lout document (a CV) which I keep 2 versions of:
one in English and one in Italian.

I would like to minimise duplication (format file, etc.), what's the
best course of action?

Should I use something like "m4" to insert the appropriate strings
in a "template" lout document?
