These are the errors I get :

lout file "test_case.lout":
     16,1: no @ItemPlace galley target precedes this @ItemPlace&&preceding
     18,1: no @EndListPlace galley target precedes this 
@EndListPlace&&preceding

I use the Ubuntu Lout package that I got doing "apt-get install lout", 
after verification, the version of Lout I have is 3.39
