Will do I decided to remake the official port from scratch and this my
first attempt to compile it under the *OLD* port not the new one I am
making to replace the old one... I am sure I will have other questions as I
proceed but for now have none... as to the compiler and stuff:

root@test:/usr/ports/devel/aegis # cc -v
FreeBSD clang version 3.3 (tags/RELEASE_33/final 183502) 20130610
Target: x86_64-unknown-freebsd10.0
Thread model: posix
root@test:/usr/ports/devel/aegis # gcc -v
Using built-in specs.
Target: amd64-undermydesk-freebsd
Configured with: FreeBSD/amd64 system compiler
Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.2.1 20070831 patched [FreeBSD]

I am in the process of upgrading to gcc 4.8 (and making the port depend on
4.8)
