Details:

After a tla branch or a tla switch command to a branch in a different
archive, the working directory often enters a state where tla cannot figure
out the current revision even though it knows about the current version. 
Something to do with the lack of the required revision information in the
{arch} metadata.

To be investigated and fixed.
