Reindenting / Reformating (whitespace)

I have files in my repository that I would like to
reindent (convert spaces to tabs or vice-versa).
However, Bitkeeper seems to ignore my changes to
whitespace formating. Is there a way I can force
Bitkeeper to recognize these changes?

I'm also having the same problem with newlines and
carrage returns. Something got really messed up in
some of my files, and some of the actually have
multiple ^M characters on each line which is messing
up my VC7.1 compiler. I would like to strip all of
these, but everytime I do, Bitkeeper also ignores my
changes. 

Is there an easy way to fix all this?
