Are we talking about the same thing?

My "easy case" is:

 CSet	Description
 ...	what came before
 1.123	something useful
 1.124	something bogus
 1.125	UNDO 1.124 (making 1.125 be "effectively the same" as 1.123)

and the harder case being:

 CSet	Description
 ...	what came before
 1.123	something useful
 1.124	something bogus
 1.125	something useful
 1.126	UNDO 1.124 (making 1.1265 be "effectively the same" as 1.123+1.125)

I understand that the undo operation in the harder case can require a merge
before it is committed.
