i'm already doing that to a large extent, but i'm also trying to throw
in a few examples for my readers, and i like my docs to flow smoothly,
so i like to look ahead to what i *might* want to talk about down the
road and, if i know i want to bring in a command eventually, i might
change an earlier example so i can lead into a later one.

yes, it's probably overkill, but i've written docs and manuals for
years, and it's a hard habit to break.
