1) this may belong on info-cvs but because it is a configuration error instead of a fault in the way CVS is programmed it does not belong on bug-cvs. (bug-cvs is getting a BCC as I move this to info-cvs) Muraleedhara Reddy wrote, On 10/29/2008 02:22 PM: > Dear CVS users community, > > I am getting below error for any CVS action i do in WinCVS or in command > line. Following list borrowed from Arthur Barrett CVSNT newsgroup: http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt or news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsnt WinCVS newsgroup: http://groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/cvsgui TortoiseCVS newsgroup: http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=48103 But it sounds like your ssh client is having trouble making connections. Have you tried to ssh to the server with the same user@host info you give CVS in the $CVSROOT variable? Does it work or fail? What was updated in the Windows Update? (actually don't answer that on THIS list, unless you can narrow down the list to one or two items you think are messing up your connection.) > Would anybody help me to get rid of this error? > > ================================================================ > > cvs update -P -- Promotion.wsdl (in directory C:\release\v75\SCPO\wsdl\) > > cvs [update aborted]: Connection to server failed > > ***** CVS exited normally with code 1 ***** <SNIP> > ================================================================ > > > Thanking you.., > > Muraleedhara Reddy .S -- Todd Denniston Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane) Harnessing the Power of Technology for the Warfighter
